Blackout
Also called: BO.
A blackout is a lighting cue that takes the stage to darkness, used to end a scene or cover a change. A snap blackout is instant; a fade to black takes a count. Glow tape and running lights are what let the crew work through one.
In CueCall
A lighting cue described as a blackout can be mapped to a named console cue in the QLab export settings, since a cue with no number of its own cannot be fired by guessing one.
