Followspot
Also called: Spot, Follow spot.
A followspot is a powerful, manually operated lighting instrument that follows a performer around the stage, run by an operator who picks up and drops the beam on cue. Followspot cues are called separately from the lighting board's cues because a person, not a console, executes them.
In CueCall
Followspot is its own cue department, so pickups and fades are listed for the operator apart from the board cues.
