Dry tech and wet tech

A dry tech is a technical rehearsal without the cast: the crew and the operators run cues, scene changes and transitions on their own. A wet tech adds the performers. Dry first, because an actor standing in the dark while a fly cue is re-timed for the fourth time is a cast member's evening lost.
