Finding Duplicate Cues

In the Cues view of the Tech tab, Find duplicates lists cues that were entered more than once: the same department on the same script page (or, when a cue has no page, in the same scene), sharing a cue number ("LX 4" and "4" count as the same), a trigger line or a description. It needs cue-editing access.

  • Keep: in each group the cue entered first is kept, since it is the one most likely to be used already elsewhere.
  • Remove: the copies of the kept cue start ticked. Untick any that are genuinely separate cues — two blackouts on one page can be two blackouts — then press Remove.
  • Grouped through another copy: a cue can land in a group because it matches one of the copies rather than the kept cue (a "Blackout" with no page links the blackouts on pages 3 and 7). It is listed but starts unticked, and says so.
  • Nothing happens until you press Remove. A removed cue comes off the script page and out of the next QLab export.
