Mic Groups, Levels & Cue Timing

In the Cues view of the Tech tab, the Add Cue and Edit Cue forms carry the parts of a cue that say how it runs, the way a prompt book writes them.

Being rolled out: this is switched on account by account. If you don't see it these fields on the cue form, it isn't on for your account or company yet — ask support to turn it on.

Mic cues

  • Mic #s: type them as you'd write them — "1, 3, 6-8".
  • Groups: a named set of mics, such as Choir or Band. Choose Edit mic groups to name a group and list its mics once; any mic cue can then use the name. Renaming a group renames it on every cue. A cue can use groups and single mic numbers together.
  • Level: Low, Normal or Loud. The cue sheet shows it as "Mics ON (LOW): Choir". What fader position Low and Loud mean on your mixer is set once, in Export for QLab.

Sound and video cues

  • Song: links a sound cue to a song on the song list.
  • Plays: what the cue plays in an exported cue list — Automatic (the song's performance track, or the scene's one projection), a file you choose from the show's files, or Nothing for a number the band plays live. It's the same choice as the Media step of Export for QLab.
  • Crossfade: on a video cue, how long this projection takes to fade in. Leave it blank to use the show's setting; 0 is a cut.

Every cue

  • Then: what happens after the cue fires. Wait for the next GO is the usual. Auto-continue starts the next cue at the same moment as this one; Auto-follow starts it when this one finishes.
  • Pre-wait: seconds to hold after GO before the cue runs.

These show on the cue sheet beside each cue, travel with the show when you duplicate or export it, and are what Export for QLab builds from.
