Private Script Notes

On the Script tab you can keep notes on the script that only you can see: lines to remember, blocking, a reminder about a prop. Nobody else on the production can read them, the show's owner included.

  • Cast and students: every note you add to the script is private. Click anywhere on a page, or press Add in the notes panel, and write. You can edit, move and delete your own private notes
  • Everyone else: turn on Private note in the Add Note dialog, or press the lock button at the bottom-left of a new note on the page before you finish typing. Notes are shared unless you choose private
  • How to tell: a private note has a lock on the page and a Private badge in the notes panel
  • Nobody is told: a private note can't notify anyone by email or be assigned as a task
  • Where they appear: only on your own screens and in your own annotated script download. They are left out of show exports and duplicates, and rehearsal reports never include them
  • Private stays private: a note can't be switched between private and shared after it is saved. To share it, add it again as a shared note
  • Deleting your account deletes your private notes with it
