Merging Duplicate Songs

Licensed show kits ship several audio files per number — guide vocal, accompaniment, performance track — and uploading them creates one song per file, so the same number appears several times. Merge Songs puts them back together after the fact:

  • Where: The "Merge Songs" button at the top of the Sound & Music tab
  • Grouping: Songs whose titles match once track labels are ignored are grouped for you — "Defying Gravity", "Defying Gravity (Guide Vocal)" and "Defying Gravity (Accompaniment)" land in one group
  • Refine with AI: If your files use titles that don't match exactly, AI regroups them. A "Reprise" or "Part 2" is treated as a different number
  • You decide: Choose which song is kept, rename it, set each folded-in song's track type, and untick anything you'd rather leave alone
  • What happens: Each folded-in song's audio becomes a track on the song you keep — a song whose only audio is a link (such as a YouTube video) becomes a link track when the song you keep already has a link of its own. Its notes, cues, blocking, linked files, sheet music pages and characters come across too
  • Conflicts: The song you keep wins — it only takes a scene, sheet music or link from a folded-in song where it had none

Note: Merging deletes the folded-in song rows and can't be undone, so review the groups before pressing Merge. Nothing is written until you do.
