Sound Effects

A doorbell, a gunshot, thunder, a phone ringing — the cued sounds a production needs live in this tab beside the musical numbers, because they are the same thing to organize: an audio file (or a link to one), the scene it belongs to and notes on it.

  • Adding one: Press Add Song and set the Category field to Sound Effect. The dialog's title, buttons and placeholders follow your choice
  • Telling them apart: Sound effects carry a speaker icon and a "Sound Effect" badge; songs look exactly as they always have
  • Showing one list: The Show filter above the list switches between Everything, Songs and Sound Effects, with a count beside each. With a list filtered, the Add button adds to that list
  • Sheet music: Offered for songs only — a sound effect has no score. Everything else (audio playback, extra tracks, scene and character assignment, notes and tasks) works the same for both
  • Scene grouping: Sound effects group by scene alongside the songs, so a scene's music and its effects are read together
