Assistant stage manager
Also called: ASM, Deck stage manager.
The assistant stage manager supports the stage manager in rehearsal — taking blocking, tracking props, setting up the room — and runs the deck during performances: leading the crew through scene changes, checking presets, and reporting to the stage manager on headset. On a large show there are several, each owning a side of the stage.
