Scene Backdrops
Add backdrop images for your scenes using AI generation or by uploading your own. These can be used for projections, set design inspiration, or visual references.
AI Generation
- Context: The AI uses your show's vision statement and scene description to understand the aesthetic
- Image Size: Choose from common aspect ratios (16:9 widescreen, 4:3 standard, etc.) - your preference is saved for future backdrops
- Prompt: Describe what you want in the backdrop (e.g., "A mystical forest at twilight with fog")
- Reference Materials: Optionally attach up to 3 files to guide the look — existing images from the show (production files, scene images, inventory photos), the script or a design document, or new uploads. Images (PNG, JPEG, WebP or HEIC, under 4MB each) are shown to the image model directly. Documents (PDF, Word, text or Markdown, under 50MB) are read by AI first and summarized into the prompt — that reading is a separate, smaller charge shown in the dialog, and what it contributed appears under the preview
- Generation: Click "Generate Backdrop" to create an image - it may take a few seconds
- Auto-save: Generated backdrops are automatically saved to the scene's files
Upload Your Own
- Upload: Click "Upload Backdrop Image" to add your own images (PNG, JPG)
- Multiple Files: You can upload up to 5 images at once
- File Size: Maximum 10MB per image
Tip: AI-generated backdrops automatically appear on the Show Detail Vision Board, making it easy to see all your scene visuals in one place. Click on them to navigate to the scene. You can have multiple backdrops per scene for different options.
