Adding Your Own Images and Image Notes

Not every image on a slide has to come from your inventory. You can drop in one-off images — a reference photo, a fabric swatch, a sketch — and caption each one individually.

Three ways to add an image:

  • Upload: Click "Upload" on an expanded slide to pick files from your device
  • From URL: Click "From URL" and paste an image address — the image is saved into your show, not hotlinked, so it keeps working if the original page goes away
  • Paste: Expand a slide and press Ctrl+V (Cmd+V on Mac) to drop an image straight from your clipboard

Adding a note to a specific image:

  • Open the note editor: Click the speech-bubble button in the corner of any image, or select the image and click "Add Note" in the slide toolbar
  • Type the note: Up to 500 characters — e.g. "Re-dye navy before dress" or "Swatch 2 — waiting on supplier"
  • Save: Click "Done", or click anywhere outside the box
  • Edit or remove: Open the same editor again and change the text, or click "Clear" to remove the note
  • Where it shows: Under that image on the slide, in presentation mode, and in the PDF export
  • Image notes are internal: They are never shown on a public share link, and are not included in the data a share link loads — so shorthand like "waiting on supplier" or a cost reminder is safe to write there

Image notes vs. slide notes: An image note is a caption that belongs to one picture and appears on the slide itself. A slide note is dated feedback from a named person that appears in the notes panel. Use an image note for "which one is this and what's wrong with it"; use a slide note for a conversation.
