What an Organization Does

An organization is your theatre company's shared account. It can own shows, a people roster, and a shared inventory pool, carries the company's billing (two free shows and the Unlimited plan), and is how you participate in the Marketplace. Create or manage yours from the Organization selector at the top of the sidebar — a name is required, and choosing your country and entering its postal code (a ZIP code in the US, a four-digit postcode in Australia, and so on) sets your location so you can list items on the marketplace.

  • Team & roles: Organizations have owners, admins, and members. Owners/admins administer the org (team, settings, billing), but only an owner can make someone an owner, change an owner's role or remove one; all members share the company inventory pool and roster. These are the account holders who run the org — distinct from Company Members (families/students who join a membership program) and People (your cast/crew records)
  • Invite anyone: Add teammates by email from the organization page's Team tab. Either way they hear from us: someone without a CueCall account gets an email invitation and joins when they sign up, and someone who already has an account is added straight away and emailed to say so
  • Switch organizations: The Organization selector sits at the top of the sidebar, above Dashboard, because it sets the workspace everything below it shows. Pick All organizations Personal, or a company, and Shows, People, Inventory, Calendars, Notes, Files, Tasks, Budgets and the Dashboard all narrow to that context. Your choice is remembered between visits, and the active company is also the one used for marketplace listings and requests
  • Switching while inside a show: If you switch to a workspace that doesn't include the show you're looking at, CueCall takes you back to that workspace's show list and the sidebar returns to the main menu — so you're never left reading one company's production under another company's name
  • Links always work: Opening a link or bookmark to a show in a different workspace switches you to that workspace instead of turning you away, so a shared show link never looks broken. If the show belongs to a company you're not a member of — you're a guest on someone else's production — you land in All organizations, the one view that includes it
  • Working across companies: Choose All organizations to see everything at once. Inventory and Calendar also carry the switcher on the page itself, so you can widen a search without going back to the sidebar
  • Creating inside a company: While a company is selected, new shows, people, and inventory default to that company — switch to Personal (or change the picker in the dialog) to keep something private
  • Personal stays personal: Everything is opt-in. Shows, people, and inventory you don't move into the organization remain private to you, exactly as before. Personal is its own workspace in the switcher, and shows you create there still draw on your two free personal shows
